2023年のAUTO BACS SUPER GT ROUND6『SUGO GT 300km レース』が9月1 7〜18日の2日間に宮城県のスポーツランドSUGOで開催され、2日間で2万7900人のファンが来場し、大盛況となりました。
東北地方では年に一度となるSUPER GTのレース。昨年まで続いていたコロナ禍に伴う場内での行動制限なども大幅に緩和されたことに加え、今回は3連休期間中の開催だったこともあり、大会初日からサーキットは熱気に包まれました。
予選日は途中に雨が降るなど、安定しない天候となりましたが、決勝日はグランドスタンドが多くのファンで埋め尽くされ、SUPER GTならではの盛り上がりをみせました。
また、イベントブースは各クラスの上位3名によるドライバートークショーやレーククイーンステージを見ようと、多くのファンで賑わい、ピットウォークやキッズウォークでは、コロナ禍では規制されていたサイン会やグッズの配布なども復活。ドライバーと身近に触れ合える従来の形に戻りつつあります。
決勝レースは途中赤旗によるレース中断があったものの、再開後は両クラスで熱戦のバトルが展開されました。レース終了後に順位が入れ替わるなど混乱はありましたが、 GT500クラスでは#8 ARTA MUGEN NSX -GT(野尻智紀/大湯都史樹)が、GT300クラスでは#52 埼玉トヨペットGB GR Supra GT(吉田宏樹/川合孝汰) が、それぞれ今季初優勝を飾りました。
次回は10月14日〜15日に大分県のオートポリスでROUND 7が開催されます。
